FARMER LI DEFEATS THE CLOUD DEMONS
DATE: March 15, 2020
LOCATION: DENVER

DESCRIPTION:
Legend has it that Farmer Li was attacked by a band of "cloud demons" while harvesting grain on his farm. These demons were actually bandits on horseback whose cloud of dust kicked up by the galloping horses could be seen ahead of their arrival. The term "cloud demons" is an earthly representation from the stories of evil demons who were fought in the heavenly realm. It is said that to combat the bandits, Farmer Li took the handle off of the millstone (another version says that it was the handle to the water well) and used it as a weapon. The shape of the handle became the basis for the long and short tonfa that is used today.

This form uses a single long 24" tonfa. It has the devastating power that has been seen in the Double Tonfa classes. In addition, this weapon has a longer reach and the ability to use it with one or two-handed techniques. Since one hand can be free, you have a full range of hand attacks to combine with your kicks and tonfa techniques!
